the University of Bologna

The Department of Economics in collaboration with the Psychology Department at the University of Bologna asked us to create a web app capable of collecting data, conveying the principles of conscious parenting through short mindful interactions, and building gamification dynamics that would make using the app easy, useful, and engaging.

OUTPUT

We structured the information and research materials as the result of a constructive and open dialogue with both departments. The goal was to provide a simplified UX/UI design, with a clear division in the interface between informative spaces and those dedicated to data entry. We created visual identity, illustrations, micro animations and UI movements to create a mobile first app that was also usable from a desktop computer because of its responsiveness. In the app there are numerous interactive experiences, an interactive story about emotion recognition and video tutorials in motion graphics that lead to the use of questionnaires.

Great attention was paid to responsiveness and multi-browser/multi-platform usability. The interactive mechanisms interchange with the app to communicate the completion and results of the small tests. The system integrates the insertion of scheduled questionnaires, the progressive release of content and visual feedback, and achievements that communicate the completion of information experiences.
Visual identity
We decided on color palettes and fonts to guarantee a welcoming and engaging experience for families. The illustrations accompany the user in an engaging experience with listening moments and active interactions designed with researchers to accompany the parent in the process of recognition and knowledge of conscious parenting.
Game design
All the interactive contents of the app are in html5 and javascript. "What a Day Zazà" is one of the most complex topics that assists children to recognize and name emotions.
