Egyptian Museum of Turin, Italy

The Egyptian Museum in Turin, Italy wanted to innovatively inform visitors about archaeological stratigraphy (the study of rock layers) and show the process of how some artifacts found by archaeologists become a museum collection. The experience had to be accessible exclusively to anyone purchasing a museum ticket, via clickable banners inserted in the appropriate area of the website and by email.

Web & Interaction
The experience works on all devices. The animations make excavation navigation smooth, both when moving vertically and when moving horizontally. The interaction that allows you to dig each layer of soil is reminiscent of a trowel (an instrument used by archaeologists). The whole experience is amplified by casual music and dynamic sound effects that vary depending on where you are in the virtual dig.
